May I nominate myself for an award?

Self nominations are not permitted for IEEE-level awards. You must be nominated by someone.

Who is eligible to be considered for an Award?

Any individual who is currently not serving on the IEEE Board of Directors, IEEE Awards Board, or the Technical Field Award Council/Medals Council/Recognitions Council and the respective selection committee.

A candidate also cannot be a previous recipient of another IEEE-level award for the same contributions. However, a candidate can  move up the awards hierarchy (as listed below in order). IEEE staff are not eligible to be considered.

- Medal of Honor

- Medals

- Technical Field Award

- Recognitions

When is the deadline?

Medals and Recognition - 15 June (annually)

Technical Field Awards - 15 January (annually)

Who is eligible to endorse?

Any individual who is currently not serving on the IEEE Board of Directors, IEEE Awards Board, or the Technical Field Award Council/Medals Council/Recognitions Council, and the respective selection committee.  IEEE Staff are not eligible to endorse a candidate.

How many endorsers are required?

Minimum of 3 and maximum of 5.
