IEEE WIE International Scholarship
The IEEE WIE International Scholarship was established through the support of our WIE members and others, who donated to the IEEE WIE Fund. One scholarship will be awarded annually and is open to international students.
In celebration of the IEEE Foundation's milestone 50th anniversary in February 2023 and a desire to lay the foundation for the future we envision, the IEEE Foundation has proudly expanded its four-pillars of impact to include a new, fifth pillar, "Future," that includes IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE).
This scholarship is made possible by the IEEE Women in Engineering fund of the IEEE Foundation.

Scope
One award annually
Eligibility
- IEEE WIE Student Member in at least the candidate's second consecutive year of WIE Membership.
- Full-time undergraduate student who has completed two (2) years of undergraduate study in an engineering curriculum at an accredited university or college.
- Evidence of at least a 3.7 grade point average on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent in the candidates's local grade system)
- Applicants may apply multiple times but can only be awarded the scholarship once.
- Self-nominations and nominations from others are acceptable
Required Documents to be Submitted with Application:
Note: All essays are reviewed for plagiarism to ensure originality and integrity.
- Two-part essay: (1) 1,000 words on why the applicant wants to go into the engineering profession, and (2) 500 words on why the applicant should receive the Scholarship
- Two letters of recommendation: (1) from an academic reference, such as a professor or department chair, and (2) from a personal reference who knows the candidate well and can comment on the candidate's character
Selection Committee
The scholarship recipient(s) will be recommended by the IEEE WIE Education and Outreach Subcommittee and approved by the IEEE WIE Committee.
Scholarship Award
The recipient will receive a certificate and a monetary prize shall be US$2,500, per scholarship recipient.
